Two color quilts.

There was an exhibit last year by the American Folk Art Museum of red and white quilts that looks quite amazing.  See http://www.folkartmuseum.org/infinitevariety and http://www.themarthablog.com/2011/03/infinite-variety-three-centuries-of-red-and-white-quilts.htmlI find myself very inspired to try a quilt in two colors. I Tried Spray Basting and not only was the smell noxious, it really didn't work. I also wouldn't recommend it if you don't intend to wash your quilt before using/giving it away.

Basting

Spray, stitch or pin? I generally pin baste and while it works well, it seems so time consuming? I tried to spray baste a large quilt with very poor results. I'm not sure if it's my technique or what. What's your preferred method to baste and if you've been successful with spray basting can you share the secrets to your success? I found a you tube vid to do a wall basting method, and I am a wee bit wall space challenged, but may give this a go. Has anyone tried this method and how did it work…See More
